Why is there a fish in our garden?

August 11th, 2008

Today, Leslie and I went to the garden for some tomatoes and found a dead fish lying in it.  It was at least a foot long.  Which spawns the obvious question, why is there a dead fish in our garden?  After some careful consideration of the possibilities.. grizzly bears, flood water, fell down the hill from the water treatment plant… We concluded that we’ve angered some gardener who is not our neighbor.  (Not our garden neighbors because who wants a fish smell every time they visit their garden)  We do have alot of weeds in the garden, but ours is not the worst.  Do you think that someone went through all that trouble to make a point?  Or is it just that the woodchuck’s back?

Louisiana Trip

A couple of weeks ago, I went to New Iberia, LA for work. We were able to squeeze in a trip to Avery Island. Home of Tabasco & their Jungle Gardens. Here are some photos from the trip.

Leslie and I started remodeling her/the guest bath. It started with panelling, so we removed that. Then there was some glue (the dark brown stuff near the top of the photo), there was also some wallpaper. After our experience with scraping & sponging off the wallpaper in my bath, we’ve decided to avoid it and replace the drywall all together. A curse on anyone thinking about putting up wallpaper, paneling, or tile on drywall that’s in good shape… You all suck.

Although our actual garden plot is #87, we took over #88 because someone already planted things in 87.   Also started tilling #12, our perennial plot, but that’s taking a while because it was currently growing grass.
